Back-to-School Backpack Drive: PG&E Steps Up in a Big Way

Backpack in line to be given out to Fresno Mission kids going back to school

Thanks to a generous $5,000 donation from PG&E, along with volunteers from the Office of State Senator Shannon Grove, students staying with Fresno Mission got ready to head back to school with the supplies they needed to start the year with confidence.

“I am so grateful for the donation from PG&E,” said Senator Shannon Grove. “I know you all will be able to continue to bless the families you serve by making sure the kids have the supplies needed for school in order to be successful.”

That support came full circle at our Back-to-School Haircuts and Backpack Party on Saturday, August 15, where families enjoyed free haircuts, nail care, backpacks and encouragement as students prepare for the new school year.

Thank you to PG&E, Senator Grove’s office, and every donor who made this possible. Because of you, local kids stepped into this school year a little more ready, and a little more hopeful.
