Costumes, Candy and a Campus Full of Laughter
If you had walked across the Searcy Center grounds on October 30, you might have bumped into a superhero, a fairy, a pint-sized dalmatian, and at least one very determined dinosaur. Our fall celebration had officially arrived and our kids were ready.
For one evening, the Searcy Center campus became a neighborhood made for trick-or-treating, right at home for the children who live here with their parents. Doors were decorated, treat bags were filled and the sound of little feet racing from one stop to the next carried across the grounds.

A Night Every Family Deserves
Moms and dads walked hand in hand with their children, helping adjust costumes and cheering every time a treat landed in a bag. Our staff joined right in, some in costumes of their own, handing out candy and trading high-fives with every trick-or-treater who came their way.
For many of our residents, a night like this means more than it might seem. When a family is working through recovery or rebuilding after a hard season, simple traditions can feel out of reach. This evening gave parents the chance to be fully present for their kids, to laugh with them and to create the kind of memory every child deserves to carry.

The Childhood Some Never Had
Some of the biggest smiles of the night came from our resident men. They joined the kids on the trick-or-treat route, treat bags in hand, collecting candy right alongside them.
As the evening went on, something deeper came into view. Many grew up without nights like this. There were no costumes, no treat bags, and no one walking beside them to make an ordinary evening feel special. Walking from door to door and laughing with the children, several of them shared that it felt like getting back a piece of the childhood they missed.

It was a quiet, powerful reminder that restoration often shows up in small moments. Sometimes healing looks like a counseling session or a job interview. Sometimes it looks like a grown man grinning as a piece of candy lands in his own treat bag.
Made Possible by You
Nights like this don’t happen by accident. They happen because a community of friends, donors and volunteers believes that every person deserves a fresh start and every child deserves to feel joy.
We owe a special thank-you to the Frowsing family. Their faithful support is why this celebration carries their name and why so many children and residents got to experience a night they will remember for years to come.
Your generosity keeps warm meals coming from CC’s Kitchen, keeps the doors of Searcy Center open and makes room for moments that bring life back to people who need it most. When you give, you aren’t only meeting needs. You’re helping families laugh together again and helping men and women coming out of crisis rediscover the wonder they lost along the way.
Thank you for being part of every smile, every treat bag and every memory made that night. We can’t wait to see what this season holds next.
